Keeping Water Out of Las Vegas Concrete Structures

Basements, plaza decks, and wet rooms need membranes that stop water before it reaches the slab. Ardex waterproofing systems are engineered for Las Vegas conditions, and we install them as a complete assembly: substrate prep, primer, membrane application, and protection layers all working together. Free written estimate on every project.

Why systems work

Waterproofing Succeeds When Every Layer Plays Its Role

A membrane alone is not waterproofing. The primer bonds the membrane to the substrate. The protection layer shields the membrane from backfill, foot traffic, or equipment during construction. The joint detail handles movement and transitions where water finds gaps. Remove any one piece and the system fails.

Ardex designs each component to work with the others, and the warranty covers the full assembly only when installed per spec. We follow that protocol because it is the only way to deliver decades of dry concrete.

Our full Ardex range includes repair mortars for substrate prep and self-leveling underlayment for floor flatness. When waterproofing is part of a larger basement renovation, we coordinate all the concrete work.

Installation sequence

How Ardex Waterproofing Gets Installed

  1. Assess and specify

We evaluate the substrate, exposure conditions, and protection requirements to select the right Ardex system (below-grade liquid, plaza deck sheet, wet-room assembly, or balcony membrane).

  2. Prepare the slab

Concrete is cleaned, repaired with compatible Ardex products, and all transitions are staged. Joint details are prepped to receive the membrane per the engineered spec.

  3. Prime and seal

The matched Ardex primer is applied to bond the membrane to the substrate. The membrane follows (liquid-applied or sheet) at the specified thickness, with every corner, penetration, and edge detailed per protocol.

  4. Protect and hand off

The protection layer (drainage board, screed, or traffic surface) is installed over the cured membrane. Warranty documentation is prepared and the waterproofing is ready for the next phase.

The critical detail

Corners and Penetrations Are Where Waterproofing Fails

Most waterproofing failures we investigate start at a joint, corner, or pipe penetration. The membrane field is typically fine; the transition is where water enters. Ardex provides engineered detail products and procedures for every transition type, and we install them per spec because that is where the system must hold.

If the substrate needs Ardex repair before membrane install, we handle that first. For larger projects involving foundation work or commercial flooring, the waterproofing integrates into the full scope.

Common questions

Ardex Waterproofing Questions, Answered

System types, joint details, protection layers and warranty.

Multiple systems for different applications: below-grade liquid-applied, plaza-deck membrane, wet-room system, balcony waterproofing. We spec from the Ardex range based on the project's actual exposure and substrate.
Because that is where most waterproofing fails. The membrane field is rarely the problem; the corner or penetration is. Ardex provides engineered detail products for those transitions; using them per spec is what makes the system hold.
A physical layer (drainage board, screed, traffic surface) installed over the cured membrane to protect it from backfill, traffic, or service exposure. Without protection, even a perfectly installed membrane can be damaged in subsequent construction phases.
Yes, system warranty applies when installed to Ardex spec by an Ardex-system installer. We deliver the warranty documentation at handoff.
Depends on area and system. Below-grade wall waterproofing on a foundation might be a few days; a full plaza-deck system stretches longer. The full schedule is in the quote.

They walked through the joint detail before install so we understood why it cost what it cost. The system has held; the up-front spec discussion was worth it.
