Acid, Caustic & Solvent-Rated Concrete Flooring for Las Vegas Plants

Acids, caustics, solvents, and process chemicals eat through standard concrete. We install urethane cement and specialty epoxy systems engineered to your exact chemical exposure, with free written estimates and firm schedules.

Engineering the right floor

Why Chemical Resistance Cannot Be Generic

A floor rated for dilute caustic will fail under hydrochloric acid. A system that handles hydrocarbons dissolves under chlorinated solvents. The concrete slab must be matched to the actual chemicals your operation uses, at the concentrations and temperatures you use them, with contact times factored in.

We start by collecting the full chemical inventory from your operations or safety team. That includes process chemicals, cleaning agents, and occasional spill scenarios. Once we have the profile, we cross-reference it against the resistance data from available systems and recommend the one that fits. Severe exposure (concentrated acids, hot caustic, broad chemical spectrum) typically calls for urethane cement. Moderate exposure with a narrower chemical mix often works with specialty chemical-resistant epoxy.

This approach connects to our broader heavy-duty manufacturing floors and warehouse floor coating work. It also differs from food-grade epoxy (compliance-driven) and ESD flooring (static-dissipative focus).

How Chemical-Resistant Flooring Gets Built in Las Vegas

  1. Gather chemical data

We document every chemical that contacts the floor, including cleaning products and spill scenarios. Concentration, temperature, and contact time all factor into the system selection.

  2. Match system to exposure

Using manufacturer resistance charts, we specify either urethane cement for severe exposure or specialty epoxy for moderate exposure. The system is engineered to your chemicals, not a generic solution.

  3. Prepare the slab

The concrete is diamond-ground to the prep profile the system requires. Old coatings, contaminants, and cracks are removed. The surface is cleaned and primed for the chemical-resistant build.

  4. Install and cure

Urethane cement is hand-troweled at engineered thickness with cove base up the walls; epoxy is applied with topcoat at the correct thickness. Full cure is documented before operations resume.

Why chemical floors fail

The Spec Mismatch Problem

Most chemical floor failures happen because the system was not specified for all the chemicals in the plant. A floor handles 95 percent of the exposure perfectly, then fails against one chemical that was not on the original spec sheet. We prevent this by getting the complete chemical inventory upfront, including occasional-use chemicals and cleaning products that operations teams sometimes overlook.

Coordinate with dust-proof sealing if your facility also needs to control concrete dust, and with other manufacturing services if different zones have different exposure profiles. The right system handles the actual conditions; the wrong one either fails or overspends.

Common questions

Chemical-Resistant Flooring Questions, Answered

Chemical profiles, urethane vs epoxy, cove base and compliance documentation.

List every chemical that touches the floor, including in cleaning processes and emergency spill scenarios. Concentration, contact time, and temperature all matter. Your safety team or chemical supplier can usually provide the data; we work from that profile.
Urethane cement for severe exposure (concentrated acid, hot caustic, broad chemical spectrum); specialty epoxy for moderate exposure with specific chemical mix. Cost difference reflects the spec difference; the right answer is the matched one.
For severe exposure, yes. The wall-floor junction is where spills accumulate; a cove base eliminates the seam where a spill could attack the wall material. Standard installs include cove base where the chemical profile requires it.
Yes; that is part of the design. The system is rated for the cleaning chemicals as well as the process chemicals. We document the cleaning protocol that maintains the system's rating; deviating from it can shorten lifespan.
Per zone, a week or so including cure for severe-exposure urethane installs; faster for moderate-exposure epoxy. The full timeline is in the quote, sequenced around your operations.

★★★★★

They specced for chemicals our previous contractor had not considered including occasional spill scenarios. Three years of process operations, zero floor failures. Real chemistry expertise.

Z. W4
Process Engineer, Las Vegas
★★★★★

Urethane cement install with cove base in our plating area. Holds against the acid and caustic we use, cleanups happen without floor damage. Best floor we have had in that zone.

Y. W4
Plant Manager, Henderson
★★★★★

They got the chemical profile from our safety team and matched the system. Documentation supported our internal compliance audit. No improvisation, just engineering.

Q. W4
Manufacturing Director, Boulder City
★★★★★

Different systems for different zones based on actual exposure. Cost-effective and durable. The system match is what we needed; one floor everywhere would have failed or overspent.
