Micro-Topping Concrete Floors in Las Vegas
Your slab is sound but the surface is worn, patched, or simply too rough to finish. A micro-topping bonds a thin polymer layer to the existing concrete, creating a smooth, seamless base for any finish you want. Las Vegas Concrete handles the prep, application and cure. No tear-out, no months of disruption. Free written estimate included.

The right tool for the job
When Micro-Topping Floors Make Sense in Las Vegas
Not every slab can be polished or stained directly. Patches, inconsistent surface texture, or years of wear leave the concrete unsuitable for a finish that depends on the slab itself. Rather than tear out and replace, a micro-topping gives you a fresh surface without the cost and mess.
The topping is a thin, polymer-modified layer trowelled onto a prepared substrate in multiple passes. Each lift bonds tightly, building a smooth, sound new surface. Once cured, it accepts polished finishes, stained colour, or a protective sealer with equal success.
The catch: micro-topping only works on cosmetic problems. If the slab has structural issues, deep moving cracks, heaving, or base failure, the topping will not fix it. We walk the slab, assess the damage, and tell you whether it is a topping job or a tear-out.
Installation sequence
How We Apply Micro-Topping to Your Concrete Floor
-
Inspect the slab for soundness
We examine the existing concrete to confirm it is structurally stable, identify any cracks or repairs needed, and determine what finish will sit on top of the topping.
-
Profile and prepare substrate
The slab surface is mechanically profiled to create tooth for bonding, repaired where necessary, and primed with the topping manufacturer's specified primer.
-
Trowel topping in thin lifts
The polymer-modified topping is applied in successive thin passes, each one tightly bonded to the substrate, building to the final thickness with a smooth, even surface.
-
Burnish and cure to schedule
The surface is burnished to the desired finish, then cured per manufacturer timing before the final polish, stain or sealer is applied.

What Sits Above the Micro-Topping Layer
The topping itself is not the finished floor. It is the base. Most homeowners choose to polish the topping for a hard, reflective, durable surface that reads as a brand-new floor.
Others prefer staining for colour, layering warm or cool tones into the topping, then sealing for protection. Some simply seal the topping as-is for a clean, matte, low-maintenance look. The topping is engineered to accept any of these finishes. It also pairs seamlessly with radiant heat underlayment if you want warm floors beneath.

Micro-Topping Questions Answered
Thickness, finishes, structural limits and what to expect in Las Vegas.
Old basement slab was patched and ugly. They micro-topped it then polished, and now it reads as a brand-new floor without the tear-out and mess of a replacement.
Saved us a slab replacement on the main floor. Micro-topping plus stain plus seal gave us exactly the look we wanted, and the existing slab is hidden underneath.
Knew the answer when they walked in, micro-topping was the move because of how patched our slab was. Done in less than a week and the new floor looks seamless.
Combined with heated floor underlayment underneath. The radiant heat warms the topping evenly and the finished floor is exactly the same look top to bottom.
