Sealed Epoxy Floors for Las Vegas Basements & Shops
A sealed epoxy floor transforms bare concrete into a seamless, washable surface that resists chemicals and wear. We start with mechanical slab prep, not shortcuts, then apply the full system, primer, body coat, topcoat, to spec. Basements, utility rooms, workshops, finished living space. Free written estimate on every project.
- Grind or shot-blast every slab
- Primer, body, topcoat system
- Written quote, firm finish date
Surface readiness matters
How Slab Condition Determines Epoxy Success
Epoxy fails when the concrete underneath is not ready. A sealed, smooth, or damp slab will reject the coating within months. We grind or shot-blast the surface to the profile the manufacturer specifies, test for moisture, and remove any old sealer or contamination before the first coat goes down.
Once the slab is clean and profiled, the epoxy system is chosen to match the room. A basement utility area gets a basic epoxy with a solid or flake topcoat. A workshop or storage space gets a tougher, chemical-resistant system. A finished living area gets a decorative option, metallic or self-leveling, with a clear high-gloss seal.
The system then goes on in layers, primer for adhesion, body coat with colour or texture if specified, topcoat for durability and appearance. This same discipline applies to our garage floor coating work. When the slab is uneven, we pair the epoxy with a self-leveling underlayment first. For a basement floor that needs waterproofing, we address that before the epoxy goes down.
Installation sequence
The Four-Step Epoxy Floor Installation Process
-
Assess slab condition and moisture
We inspect for old sealers, cracks, moisture and surface contamination. We confirm the epoxy system matches the room's use and flag any prep work that must happen before coating, such as sealer removal or crack repair.
-
Mechanically profile the concrete
Diamond grinding or shot-blasting opens the slab to the manufacturer's required profile. This mechanical bond is what keeps the coating from peeling. Smooth concrete will not hold epoxy.
-
Install primer, body, and topcoat
We apply the full system in sequence, primer for adhesion, body coat with flake or metallic if chosen, topcoat for chemistry resistance and finish. Each layer is applied to the manufacturer's coverage rate.
-
Cure and hand off
Each coat cures to schedule before the next is applied. The topcoat reaches full chemical resistance after the published cure window. We provide the timeline for foot traffic and full load before you use the floor.
Choosing the right finish
When Epoxy Is the Right Choice
Interior epoxy is the answer when you need a sealed, washable, chemical-resistant surface. Basements with laundry or storage, workshops with solvents and spills, utility rooms with moisture, epoxy handles all of it.
If you want the concrete itself to be the finish, polished concrete is the path, no coating to fail. Stained concrete adds colour to the slab, often with a clear topcoat for protection. Micro-topping is the prep step when the slab is not flat or smooth enough for epoxy or polish. Each option has a different timeline and cost, and we explain the trade-offs on the estimate.

Interior Epoxy Floor Questions, Answered
Slab prep, system choice, durability and chemistry resistance for interior epoxy in Las Vegas.
Epoxy in the basement utility room. Seamless, easy to wipe down, and our laundry-spill incidents stopped being a problem the day they finished the install.
Workshop floor with a chemical-resistant topcoat. Two years of solvents and dropped tools and the surface still wipes clean. They prepped the slab properly first, that is the difference.
Decorative metallic epoxy in our finished basement. Looks like a statement floor, but it cleans like vinyl. Way nicer than the carpet we ripped out.
They explained that polished would not work on our slab and recommended a micro-topping plus epoxy instead. Done right, the new floor looks like a brand-new install.
