Radiant Heat Concrete in Las Vegas

Warm floors start with the concrete underneath. We pour self-leveling underlayment that fully encases your hydronic PEX tubing or electric heating mats, creating a dense, even thermal mass that radiates warmth up through polished concrete, micro-topping, tile or plank. Free written estimate, firm schedule.

  • Tubing fully encased, no voids
  • Bonds to substrate, ready for finish
  • Pressure-tested before and after pour

The foundation of comfort

Why Radiant Heat Underlayment Matters More Than the Tubing

A heating system is only as good as the concrete that surrounds it. If the slab has voids, soft spots or uneven density, the heat path breaks down. You get cold zones, hot spots, and a system that never reaches its rated output. The underlayment is what makes radiant heat actually work.

We pour self-leveling concrete that encases every loop of tubing with zero voids, bonds completely to the substrate below, and finishes flat and dense above. Whether you're running hydronic water through PEX or electric mats, the encasement method is the same. The heating contractor manages the tubing and source; we manage the thermal mass.

Once cured, the slab is ready for any finish: polished concrete for a hard, bright surface, micro-topping for a thin overlay, stained concrete for colour, or tile and plank. The heat flows through the underlayment, through the finish, and into the room. That chain only works if the concrete is right.

Installation sequence

How Radiant Heat Underlayment Gets Poured in Las Vegas

  1. Coordinate tubing layout

We work with you and your heating contractor to confirm loop spacing, manifold location, insulation board placement, and the finished elevation of the underlayment.

  2. Fasten and pressure-test

Tubing is secured to the substrate or insulation, then pressurized to operating specs. Any leaks are found and fixed before the concrete pour begins.

  3. Pour self-leveling underlayment

Self-leveling concrete is placed around the tubing, flowing to fill every void and settling to a flat, dense, finish-ready surface at the target elevation.

  4. Cure, test, and finish

The slab cures to schedule, tubing is pressure-tested again to confirm the pour caused no damage, and the surface is ready for polished concrete, micro-topping, tile or plank.

Finish options

Polished, Micro-Topping, Stained Concrete Finishes Over Radiant Heat

The underlayment is the invisible layer that makes the system work. The finish is what you see and feel every day. Polished concrete over radiant heat is a popular Las Vegas choice: hard, warm underfoot, low maintenance, and the polish brings out the aggregate.

Micro-topping is thinner, faster to cure, and takes stain or dye for custom colour. Stained concrete adds warmth and character. Tile and plank flooring contractors can install directly over the underlayment too. Pair with self-leveling substrate prep if the existing slab is uneven.

Common questions

Radiant Heat Underlayment Questions, Answered

Hydronic vs electric, finishes, response time and coordination in Las Vegas.

Yes, both. Hydronic systems run heated water through PEX tubing fastened to the substrate; electric systems use mats or cables. Either gets encased in the underlayment the same way, with the heating contractor handling the source side.
Faster with thinner underlayment, slower with deeper concrete above. The trade-off is heat capacity, deeper concrete stays warm longer between cycles. We pick the underlayment thickness to balance response and retention for your use.
All of ours: polished, micro-topping, stained, plus tile and plank installed by a flooring contractor. The underlayment is engineered to take any finish above.
Not when it is engineered for the thermal cycling and the loops are properly insulated. We use products designed for heated-floor encasement and detail any expansion joints so the underlayment moves where it should.
We pour the underlayment and coordinate with the heating contractor who handles the tubing, manifold and boiler or panel side. The handoff is sequenced so the tubing is pressure-tested before and after the pour.

Electric mat under micro-topping in the bathroom. Underlayment encased the mat perfectly, no cold patches, the floor is exactly the temperature we set.

They coordinated with our HVAC contractor on the pressure tests before and after the pour. Caught no issues but we knew the install was clean before the finish went on.

The polished concrete over the heated underlayment is the best floor in the house. Warm in February, cool in July, and the polish is dead easy to keep up.
