New Foundation Installation in Las Vegas for Homes & Additions

The foundation is the first pour and the most critical. We excavate to bearing soil, form and reinforce footings and walls to the engineer's specifications, pour and cure on schedule, then waterproof before backfill. One crew handles the entire sequence from site survey through final inspection. Free written estimate before we start.

What gets poured first

How Foundation Installation Sets Up Everything Else

A foundation that is undersized, poorly reinforced, or poured with voids will fail silently for years before cracks appear in the walls above. By then, the damage is structural and expensive to fix. That is why we start with the engineer's drawings and do not deviate.

The footing is excavated to the depth the geotechnical report specifies, the bearing soil is confirmed, and the footing is formed and reinforced before any concrete arrives on site. Walls are formed plumb and true, rebar is tied to the drawing, embeds for utilities are set in the right locations, and the pour is consolidated without voids. After the concrete cures to strength, the forms come off and the waterproofing goes on the outside before the backfill machine arrives.

For additions, the new footing ties into or isolates from the existing foundation exactly as the engineer designed it. This detail prevents the new structure from settling differently than the house, which would crack the connection. Our foundation crack repair work often traces back to a tie-in that was not done right the first time. We also handle basement waterproofing and the full range of residential concrete work.

The sequence

Step-by-Step: Installing a Foundation in Las Vegas

  1. Layout and excavation

We stake the footing and wall positions from the engineer's drawings, excavate to the depth specified in the geotechnical report, and confirm the bearing soil before forming begins.

  2. Form and reinforce footings

Footings are formed to width and depth, rebar is placed and tied to the drawing, and the concrete is ordered and poured in one continuous placement without cold joints.

  3. Cure and form walls

Footings cure to the schedule before wall forms go up. Walls are formed plumb, rebar is tied through, embeds for plumbing and electrical are set, and the wall concrete is poured and consolidated.

  4. Strip, waterproof, backfill

Forms are stripped on the engineer's schedule, waterproofing and weeping tile are applied to the outside, and backfill is placed against the protected wall.

Protection before backfill

Waterproofing and Drainage Protect the New Slab

A new foundation poured in the dry season can be leaking by spring if the waterproofing is not done before backfill. We apply exterior waterproofing to the wall and install weeping tile at the footing to carry groundwater away from the structure.

This is not an optional finish. It is part of the installation. The same care applies to the basement floor that sits inside the foundation and to all our foundation waterproofing services. A dry basement starts with a dry foundation.

Foundation Installation Questions & Answers

Drawings, footings, additions, waterproofing, and cost for new foundations in Las Vegas.

Yes. Every new foundation install is built to the structural engineer's drawings, footing sizes, wall thicknesses, rebar layouts, mix designs, and is ready for inspection at each stage before concrete is ordered or backfill goes in.
Yes. Additions usually require the new foundation to tie in or isolate from the existing footing per the engineer's design, so the new structure settles with the house rather than against it. We pour to that detail.
Below the frost line, which is typically several feet in Las Vegas, and confirmed against the engineer's geotechnical info. The exact depth depends on the soil, the load and the local code requirements; the drawings specify it.
Yes, as part of installation. Foundation waterproofing and weeping tile go on before backfill, protecting the new structure from groundwater for the long haul.
It depends on the size, the soil, the engineering and access. We put exact numbers in a written, itemised quote after reviewing the drawings and walking the site, so the price is firm against the actual project.
