Stop Foundation Cracks Before Water Finds Them

Cracks in basement walls start small and get worse. Water seeps in, freezes, expands, and the hairline becomes a leak. Las Vegas Concrete identifies each crack's type and condition, then injects or seals it with the right material so it stops moving and stays dry. Every assessment is free, and your repair quote is written before we start.

  • Crack type and condition assessed on-site
  • Polyurethane or epoxy injection selected per crack
  • Written quote, scheduled work, no surprises

Small now, structural later

Why Crack Sealing Saves Money Down the Road

A vertical hairline crack in a foundation wall is almost never an emergency on day one. But Las Vegas winters and the freeze-thaw cycle turn minor cracks into water entry points. By spring, a dry wall is weeping. By next winter, the crack has widened and the repair cost has tripled.

We measure and photograph each crack, determine whether it is vertical or horizontal, active or dormant, and whether water is already getting through. That classification drives the repair method. A dry vertical hairline gets sealed at the surface. A weeping crack gets polyurethane injected through ports so the material reaches full depth and bonds the crack shut.

Horizontal cracks or cracks that change width seasonally signal structural movement, and we refer those to foundation repair specialists rather than patch them. Our basement waterproofing work often pairs with crack repair to keep groundwater out entirely. We also link crack work to foundation installation for new builds.

The repair sequence

How Crack Injection Gets Done in Las Vegas

  1. Measure and classify the crack

We photograph, measure, and document the crack's orientation, width, and whether it is weeping or dry. This classification determines whether we seal it or inject it, and which material we use.

  2. Route and prepare the surface

The crack is routed to a clean profile where needed, dust and loose material are removed, and injection ports are spaced so the material reaches the full depth of the crack.

  3. Inject polyurethane or epoxy

Polyurethane is injected for active or weeping cracks because it flexes and expands on contact with water. Epoxy is used for structural bonding of stable cracks. The material is pumped until it reaches the far side.

  4. Cure, trim, and verify

After curing, injection ports are trimmed flush, the wall is cleaned, and the repair is inspected. Pairing with exterior waterproofing protects the outside of the wall too.

Not all cracks are created equal

When Crack Repair Isn't the Right Answer

Vertical hairline cracks are routine. Horizontal cracks across a wall, stair-step patterns in block, or cracks that widen and narrow with the seasons are red flags. These patterns mean the wall is being pushed or pulled by soil pressure, water pressure, or settlement, and injecting over the problem will not fix it.

When we see structural indicators, we stop and refer the work to foundation repair or underpinning specialists. We will not inject a crack that needs structural work. That honesty costs us jobs sometimes, but it saves homeowners from paying twice.

Foundation Crack Repair Questions Answered

Hairlines versus horizontals, polyurethane versus epoxy, and when to call a structural engineer.

Most do, even hairline ones, because once water gets in and the freeze-thaw cycle takes over, a cosmetic crack becomes a leak. Sealing or injecting it early is much cheaper than fixing it after it has opened up.
Polyurethane is flexible, expands on contact with water, and is our default for active or weeping cracks. Epoxy is rigid and structural, used when bonding the two sides of the crack permanently is the goal. We choose based on the crack.
Yes, most cracks are injected from the inside through ports drilled into the wall, which avoids excavation. Exterior repair is reserved for cases where outside conditions are causing the crack or where pairing with waterproofing is the right call.
Usually yes. Horizontal cracks suggest the wall is being pushed by soil pressure or water; that is a structural issue and gets referred up to foundation repair. Vertical hairlines are usually just shrinkage and routine to fix.
A typical injection takes a few hours and the crack is sealed by the end of the visit. Larger or multiple cracks may take a day. The timeline is in the written quote so you know up front.

Hairline crack started weeping last spring. Injected from inside in one visit, sealed up properly, and it has stayed dry through the next season. Cheap and done.

They flagged one of my cracks as horizontal and recommended a structural look instead of just injecting. Could have charged me, didn't. That kind of honesty is rare.

Three vertical cracks injected in one visit. No mess, no fuss, no return leaks. Quote was firm, work was clean, ports trimmed off so you barely see them.

Classified each crack on the wall and only repaired the ones that needed it. The rest were stable shrinkage and didn't need a thing. Saved real money.
