Stopping Cracks in Las Vegas with Sika Crack Injection
Two distinct Sika chemistries handle the full range of concrete crack problems. Polyurethane expands on water contact, sealing active leaks instantly. Epoxy bonds dormant cracks to restore structural integrity. We diagnose the crack first, then inject the right product to full depth.

Two products, two problems
Why Sika Crack Injection Requires the Right Chemistry
Not all cracks are the same, and not all injection materials work for every situation. A crack that is actively leaking water demands polyurethane, which reacts with moisture and expands to fill the void. A dormant, dry crack that has lost structural continuity needs epoxy, which hardens to bond the two sides back together. Mixing up the two leads to immediate failure.
Our process starts with a site assessment. We look at whether water is present, whether the crack is moving or stable, and what structural role the cracked element plays. From that diagnosis, we select the Sika product that will actually work. Polyurethane for wet conditions, epoxy for structural restoration.
Once the right chemistry is chosen, we install injection ports at calculated spacing, seal the crack surface between ports, and inject under controlled pressure. The material fills the full depth of the crack before we move to the next port. See our foundation waterproofing work for context on larger moisture control, and explore all Sika services we offer. How Crack Injection Gets Done in Las Vegas
-
Assess the crack condition
We determine if the crack is active (water present, moving) or dormant (dry, stable), and whether it carries structural load. This assessment drives the chemistry choice.
-
Install injection ports
Ports are positioned along the crack at spacing calculated from the crack width and depth. The concrete surface is sealed with paste between ports to contain the injection material.
-
Inject the Sika material
Polyurethane or epoxy is pumped through each port in sequence at controlled pressure, filling the crack from bottom to top before advancing to the next port.
-
Cure, remove ports, finish
The material cures (polyurethane fast, epoxy over several days). Ports are removed, the surface is sealed, and the repair is tested for completeness.
For active leaks
When Polyurethane Injection Stops Water Now
A basement wall or foundation slab that is currently leaking cannot wait for epoxy to cure. Polyurethane is the answer because it reacts with the water in the crack itself, expanding to fill the void and creating a seal. The reaction happens fast, and the leak stops during the injection process, not days later.
We use polyurethane for any situation where water is flowing or seeping at the time of injection. It is not a structural repair in the traditional sense, but it is a permanent seal. Pair it with basement waterproofing for a complete moisture strategy, and consider Sika waterproofing systems for the broader envelope. For structural follow-up, see foundation repair options.

Sika Injection Questions Answered
Chemistry selection, active leaks, port spacing, and structural restoration.
Polyurethane injection on an actively leaking basement crack. Water stopped during injection, dry for two years since. The right chemistry made the difference.
Epoxy injection for structural restoration on a foundation crack. Test cores after cure showed the crack zone stronger than surrounding concrete. Real structural repair.
Multiple cracks across a structure, each classified properly and injected with the right chemistry. The discipline of product-per-crack-condition is rare and showed in the result.
They diagnosed an injection that another contractor had failed on. Used the right Sika polyurethane this time; held through three winters. Crack chemistry matters.
