Sika Repair Mortars for Las Vegas Concrete
When concrete spalls, cracks, or loses section, the right repair mortar bonds permanently and carries load. Sika MonoTop handles structural restoration; SikaRep covers cosmetic patching. We assess the repair condition, select the matched Sika product, apply the bonded primer, and place the mortar to spec. Free assessment and written quote.

Repair classification
How Sika Repair Mortars Are Chosen
Sika does not make one repair product. MonoTop and SikaRep are product families, each with multiple formulations tuned to different repair scenarios. A structural spall on a load-bearing element calls for a different MonoTop than a thin cosmetic patch on a non-structural wall. Overhead repair demands non-sag chemistry; horizontal repair can use standard flow.
We classify the repair first: Is it structural or cosmetic? Horizontal, vertical, or overhead? Thin layer or deep section? Then we pull the matched Sika product from the range. Using the wrong product in the right situation fails almost as often as using the right product in the wrong situation. The match is the job.
Sika repair often coordinates with Sika waterproofing when moisture is part of the failure mode, with Sika crack injection when cracks precede the surface repair, and with our broader Sika floor systems on industrial slabs.
Installation sequence
Sika Repair Installation in Las Vegas
-
Assess repair condition
We evaluate whether the repair is structural or cosmetic, the orientation (horizontal, vertical, overhead), and the depth required. This determines which Sika product from the MonoTop or SikaRep range is specified.
-
Prepare substrate
The repair area is saw-cut to clean edges where needed, unsound concrete removed, and the surface cleaned to Sika specification. Proper prep ensures the bonded primer will adhere fully.
-
Apply bonded primer
The Sika bonded primer is rolled or brushed onto the prepped substrate. This primer is what creates the permanent bond between the repair mortar and the existing concrete. Skipping it voids warranty.
-
Mix and place mortar
The specified Sika repair mortar is mixed to manufacturer ratios and placed at the engineered thickness. For deep repairs, multiple lifts may be required with cure time between each.
-
Finish and cure
The surface is finished to match surrounding concrete texture. The repair cures per Sika schedule, and the installation is documented for warranty support.
Common failure mode
Why Product Substitution Fails Sika Repairs
The most common Sika repair failure we encounter is product substitution. A contractor specifies Sika MonoTop for a structural repair, but then uses a generic mortar or a different brand because it was cheaper or easier to source. The substitute does not bond to the Sika primer, the chemistry is incompatible, and the repair fails within months.
We use the specified Sika product end-to-end. When a project has multiple repair situations, we use multiple Sika products matched to each condition rather than forcing one product everywhere. This approach costs more upfront but delivers repairs that outlast the surrounding concrete. We also integrate with our broader repair brand work and Sika services to ensure the right system for the scope.

Sika Repair Questions, Answered
MonoTop vs SikaRep, structural vs cosmetic, overhead repair and warranty.
Structural repair on a parking structure spall. They used Sika MonoTop with the right primer, cured per spec. The repair has carried load for three years with no issues. Real engineering.
Overhead repair on a basement ceiling spall. The non-sag Sika product stayed in place during cure where a standard product would have slumped. Right product for the situation.
Deep-section repair on a structural element. Multiple lifts with the proper Sika product, full cure between each. Restored to engineering spec with documentation.
They were honest that one of our repairs needed the more expensive Sika product, not a substitute. Trust earned by recommending the right product even when cheaper would have worked short-term.
