Stone slabs come in fixed sizes and colors; concrete is poured to your dimensions, tinted to your palette, and finished to your preference. Integrated drainboards, custom edge profiles, glass or stone inlays, and cast-in sinks are all standard concrete moves that stone cannot match.
The casting method depends on your situation. Cast-in-place pours the concrete directly onto your cabinetry, ideal for seamless long runs and built-in features. Shop-cast means we form and cure the slab in our facility, then install it as finished pieces, keeping your kitchen clean during the build. We assess your space and timeline to recommend the right approach.
We measure your cabinetry or vanity, mark every sink cutout, cooktop opening, faucet hole and edge detail. You select the finish (matte, satin, polished), color, and any inlays or custom profiles. Nothing moves forward until the design is locked in writing.
Build forms and place reinforcement
Forms are constructed to match your template exactly, with the edge profile inverted on the bottom (cast-in-place) or top (shop-cast). Rebar or wire mesh is positioned at the correct depth, color pigment is mixed into the concrete, and any decorative inlays are set in place.
Pour, cure and grind the surface
Concrete is placed and vibrated to remove air, then left to cure on schedule. Once cured, the surface is ground progressively finer, then honed or polished to your chosen finish level, revealing the aggregate and color beneath.
Seal and hand off maintenance plan
A food-safe sealer rated for kitchen use is applied to protect against stains and spills. You receive a maintenance schedule (typically re-seal every 2-3 years) and care instructions so your countertop stays protected long-term.

Properly designed and cured concrete countertops do not crack in normal use. We engineer reinforcement and joints for the size and use of each top; hairline crazing in the surface is a normal characteristic of concrete and part of the look, not a structural issue.
Yes. Custom edge profiles (square, eased, ogee), inlays (glass, stone, wood), and integrated cast-in sinks are all options. Most of what makes a custom concrete countertop worth choosing over stone is the ability to do those things.
