Stop Basement Cracks Before Water Finds Them
Basement cracks appear in two locations: the floor slab and the interior wall face. Both need attention before moisture works deeper into the concrete. We route and seal floor cracks with flexible sealant, and inject interior wall cracks with polyurethane that bonds and moves with the concrete. When a crack signals a structural issue, we refer it to foundation repair rather than patch it. Free assessment, written quote.

Two locations, two methods
How Basement Crack Repair Differs by Location
The basement floor slab and the foundation wall face crack for different reasons and respond to different repairs. Floor cracks typically stem from shrinkage during curing or settlement of the base below, running vertically and allowing water to seep upward. Wall cracks on the interior face usually telegraph from structural movement on the outside, where the foundation wall is under load.
Floor cracks are routed open with a crack chaser to expose a clean V or square channel, then filled with a flexible sealant that accommodates seasonal expansion and contraction. Interior wall cracks receive polyurethane injection through small ports drilled along the crack line, creating a bond that flexes with the concrete. Both methods stop water at the crack, but the technique matches the location and cause.
When we identify a crack that points to structural movement or active foundation stress, we classify it as needing foundation crack repair rather than a basement-side patch. Paired with basement waterproofing, the full solution addresses both the crack and the water source.
The repair sequence
Steps to Repair Basement Cracks in Las Vegas
-
Inspect and document each crack
We photograph, measure, and classify every visible crack in the slab and along the interior wall surface, noting whether it appears to be shrinkage, settlement, or structural in origin.
-
Route floor cracks to clean profile
Floor cracks are opened with a crack chaser to a uniform V or square shape, then vacuumed clean of dust and debris, leaving a dry channel ready for sealant.
-
Seal or inject based on location
Floor cracks receive flexible sealant pushed full-depth into the routed channel and finished flush. Wall cracks get polyurethane injected through ports spaced along the crack.
-
Assess cause and pair with solutions
After curing, we identify the root cause. Active water gets paired with interior waterproofing; structural issues get referred to foundation crack repair.
Cracks reveal underlying problems
Why Basement Cracks Point to Bigger Issues
A sealed crack is a good start, but sealing alone does not address what caused the crack to form. A floor slab crack above an old plumbing trench will reopen unless the base is rebuilt. An interior wall crack weeping water will continue to weep until exterior drainage is corrected.
Our assessment identifies the cause and recommends the lasting fix. Sometimes that means a second visit to rebuild the base under the slab. Sometimes it means engaging a fresh basement floor over a stable foundation. Sometimes the answer is foundation repair on the structural side. The quote is honest about what the crack is telling us and what it will take to keep it sealed.

Basement Crack Repair Questions Answered
Floor vs wall cracks, sealing methods, injection, and when a crack signals something structural.
Slab crack above an old plumbing trench got routed and sealed properly, and they said up front the base under it was the real cause. Honest call, the crack stayed sealed.
Three slab cracks and one interior wall crack all in one visit. They classified each, repaired each the right way, and the basement is dry through the season.
They flagged my horizontal wall crack as structural and referred it up rather than just injecting. Could have charged me and walked away. Glad they did the right thing.
Routed slab cracks instead of just smearing sealer on top like the last guy did. The repair has held through two springs of melt. Real method, real results.
