Pattern-Pressed Stamped Concrete Patios for Las Vegas Backyards
Slate, flagstone, or plank textures pressed into wet concrete deliver the look of stone without the cost or grout lines. Las Vegas Concrete mixes integral pigment through the slab, applies a release agent, stamps the pattern while workable, and seals the finish. The result is a durable patio that mimics premium hardscape at concrete pricing. Free written estimate.
- Slate, flagstone or plank patterns
- Joints hidden in the pattern
- Sealed for Las Vegas weather
Decorative finish on solid base
How Stamped Concrete Differs from Other Patios
The stamped patio is a two-part system. Below the surface sits a standard poured concrete slab on a compacted granular base, sloped to shed water away from the house. Above it, the decorative layer: integral pigment mixed into the concrete, a release agent applied to the surface, and the stamp pattern pressed in while the slab is still plastic.
This approach gives you the visual depth and texture of natural stone without the labour of laying individual pavers or the maintenance of grout joints. The pattern sits flush with the surface, so there are no lips to trip on and no crevices to trap debris.
The trade-off is periodic resealing. In Las Vegas, a stamped patio typically needs resealing every two to three years to maintain colour saturation and weather protection. Exposed aggregate requires less frequent sealing, while plain concrete is the lowest-maintenance option. For existing patios that are sound but tired, patio resurfacing can refresh the surface without a full replacement.
From site to sealed finish
The Stamped Patio Installation Process
-
Site assessment and pattern selection
We measure the patio area, review drainage and slope, and bring colour and pattern samples to the site in daylight so you can see how slate, flagstone, or plank textures will look against your home and landscape.
-
Excavation and base preparation
The area is dug to the correct depth, a compacted granular base is laid, and forms are set to establish the finished slope so water runs away from the house, not toward the foundation.
-
Concrete placement and stamping
Air-entrained concrete with integral colour is placed into the forms, the release agent is applied, and the stamp pattern is pressed into the slab while the concrete is workable. Timing is critical to get clean, crisp impressions.
-
Curing, jointing, and sealing
The slab cures for several days, control joints are cut into the pattern so they blend with the design, and the finished surface is sealed to lock in colour and protect against UV, weather, and salt.
Choosing the right finish
Stamped vs Plain, Exposed, & Repair
Stamped concrete is the most decorative patio finish we offer. It mimics the look of flagstone or slate while maintaining the durability and cost-efficiency of a poured slab. Exposed aggregate sits in the middle, showing the stone in the mix for natural texture and lower sealing frequency. Plain concrete is the budget option, a clean broom-finish patio that is the most durable and requires the least maintenance.
If you already have a patio that is structurally sound but visually tired, patio repair and resurfacing can extend its life without demolition. Stamped patios also pair well with outdoor living projects like fire pits, kitchens, and pool decks, allowing you to tie the whole backyard together with a cohesive design.

Stamped Concrete Patio Questions, Answered
Patterns, colour, sealing and how stamped patios hold up in Las Vegas.
Stamped a slate-pattern patio behind the house. From the deck above you cannot tell it is not real slate, and the joints disappear into the pattern.
They brought pattern and colour samples in daylight, which made the choice obvious. The patio matches the existing stone on the house perfectly.
Big stamped flagstone patio off the kitchen. Looks designer, drains right, and a winter of freeze-thaw later there is not a crack out of the joint line.
Stamped plank pattern, gives a wood-deck look in concrete. No staining, no warping, just a quick wash and reseal every couple of years.
