We start every project by getting the base right: proper excavation, correct slope for drainage, control joints placed to manage movement, and a finish that's flat enough to stamp cleanly. The pattern and color are applied after the slab is ready, not before.
Many homeowners assume a beautiful stamped finish means the concrete is beautiful. In reality, a poor slab with cracks hidden under a pattern is still a poor slab. Site walk and design selection
We visit the property, measure the walkway path, and discuss pattern and color options. Sample boards are brought so you can see how each choice looks in your light and against your home's exterior.
Excavate, base, and form
The walkway area is excavated to proper depth, the base is compacted, and forms are set to define edges and curves. If integral color is chosen, it is ordered and confirmed at this stage.
Pour, finish, and stamp
Concrete is poured to a flat plane with the correct slope for water runoff. Once the surface reaches the right plasticity, the pattern is stamped into the slab. Topical color or broadcast finish is applied as specified.
Cure, seal, and protect
The slab cures for the required time, then a freeze-thaw-rated sealer is applied to protect the color and pattern. The re-seal schedule is included in your quote so you know when maintenance is due.

The pattern and color on a decorative walkway live on the surface of the slab. A quality sealer protects both from UV fading and from the freeze-thaw cycles that crack unsealed concrete in Las Vegas winters. We use sealers rated for our climate and we are transparent about the re-seal interval, typically every 2-3 years depending on foot traffic and sun exposure.

Stamped flagstone, ashlar slate, brick patterns, exposed aggregate, color banded borders, or custom combinations. We bring sample boards on the consultation so you can see how each reads at full size in your light and against your house color.
Both options exist. Integral color is mixed throughout the slab so chips do not show a different color beneath; topical color (broadcast or stain) is more vibrant but lives on the surface. We recommend integral for high-traffic walks and topical for accents.
The slab itself lasts decades; the pattern and color stay sharp as long as the sealer holds, typically a few years between re-seals in Las Vegas. Re-sealing every few years keeps a stamped walkway looking new for the long term.
The underlying slab follows the same rules, control joints in the right places, correct base, correct slope. We hide the joints inside the pattern where possible so cracks land in joints rather than across the design.
